Creative Through Covid

Monday 18 October 2021

7:00 pm – 8:00 pm AEDT

Join three of La Trobe University’s third year Creative Writing students via Zoom as they discuss the writing processes for their degree as well as their own projects when motivation and inspiration are at their lowest.

Bianca Breen, Elektra Orfanos, and Lachlan McKay write short stories for fun. How has their process changed since studying Creative Arts at La Trobe? Has a global pandemic helped or hindered their writing? During their discussion, the three students will share their stories of story, and offer the tips and tricks that got them through when the stars just wouldn’t align.

We will be trying some writing exercises so be sure to bring writing tools!

Attendance of this event qualifies entry into the 2021 Arts Festival Creative Writing Competition.

Philosophy of Writing

Tuesday 19 October 2021

7:00 pm – 8:00 pm AEDT

Philosophy of Writing Workshop is an online course hosted by Darren Lee, who will explore writing's unique relationship between language and the construction of meaning.

Unfortunately, the Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted the natural orders of the world. Consequently, this has also impacted our communities' beliefs and value systems. Philosophy of Writing Workshop will help the audience members to understand how to reconnect their hidden beliefs and values through writing.

This workshop will be an involved activity in writing with the host. Would you please bring a pen and paper or a word document for the session?
