Aimee Macheras

I created a series of photographs to capture and create how I was feeling in a time that is so uncertain and isolating. I used both old and new images, overlapped and blended them together to create what looks like a dream or memory. I created this series so people can see how our connection to the outside is within ourselves and we can access it anywhere and at any time. The subject matter of a young girl who is aging or decaying was chosen to make reference to how slow time is going through lockdown and isolation.

My passion within the arts is visual arts/imagery. I hope that my art reflects why making art at a time like this is so important. In lockdown, I have focused on using my creative block as a source of inspiration and have made art that reflects how I am feeling at a time that is so uncertain.
