My work layers analogue and digital materials to create hybrid art forms which speak to the current shift towards digital art in our current pandemic society. I have been struggling between wanting to work more within the physical realm but also enjoying creating digital art, through this project I’ve been able to produce work that engages with my conflicting interests as an artist and explore the ways in which the analogue and the digital can inform and interactive with each other.
Hi, my name is Annelise Henderson. I’m a third year Creative Arts student based in Bendigo. I major in both Visual Arts and Creative Writing. For the 2021 Latrobe Arts Festival I’m presenting an installation work which combines video, animation, painting and embroidery. A major challenge I’ve had as a result of the pandemic is creating and presenting my work for the online space. This challenge has encouraged me to explore unfamiliar forms and combine them to create analogue-digital hybrids. Throughout the course of my degree, I have begun to have a clearer understanding of who I am as an artist and what kind of art I want to make. Next year, I would like to complete an honours project in Visual Arts.
